Slot with Update on Salah, Frimpong, Alisson and Chiesa
Slot provides mixed injury news ahead of the City clash — Salah is almost ready, Chiesa is back in training, but Alisson will be out for longer and Frimpong faces a scan.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided detailed updates on the fitness of Mohamed Salah, Jeremie Frimpong, Alisson Becker, and Federico Chiesa. Salah missed the Brighton match before the international break with a muscle injury, while Chiesa featured in that game but was subsequently released from the Italy national team camp as he was deemed unfit to play. Alisson also sat out the Brighton fixture and continues his recovery, while Frimpong was substituted after just 12 minutes of the Netherlands' friendly.
"Salah is very, very close. He is recovering very quickly. He will train again tomorrow and if everything goes well, he will be available for City. For Jeremie, the Netherlands team doctor told us that his substitution was a precautionary measure. He will have a scan later to assess his condition. Alisson will be out for a little longer. Federico couldn't play for Italy and came back, but he trained with us today and will train again tomorrow, so he will be available for the weekend," said Slot.
Slot also revealed that Alexander Isak will rejoin team training tomorrow.
