Former Bayern Chief on Guardiola: "I Can Read It on His Face That Something Is Wrong"
Former Bayern director Matthias Sammer believes Guardiola will leave Man City at the end of the season, saying he can read it on the Spaniard's face.
Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season. That is the view of former Bayern Munich director Matthias Sammer, who worked alongside the Catalan coach at the Allianz Arena for three years, winning three Bundesliga titles and two domestic cups together. Speculation over Guardiola's future at City has been swirling for weeks, with a growing number of sources claiming he will not be in charge of the club next season.
"First of all, I want to say that I am very happy for him. We worked excellently together for three years and he is a very, very good coach. I think I can read his face, his gestures, his eyes, the way he speaks very well. Something is not right — I can feel it. It is written on his face. There is no need to explain to people who have no idea what it is about that you cannot always win. My advice to him is to take a deep breath," said the 1996 Ballon d'Or winner.
Guardiola himself has hinted on several occasions in recent months that his future at Manchester City is uncertain, though he is yet to make a final decision.
