Supercomputer Predicts: Tottenham to Survive, West Ham to Go Down, Gruev and Leeds to Return to the Premier League

Opta's supercomputer forecasts Tottenham will narrowly avoid relegation by just one point, while West Ham are tipped to join Burnley and Wolves in the Championship.

According to Opta's supercomputer, Tottenham will avoid relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, despite growing fears over the club's top-flight survival. On Sunday, Spurs suffered a heavy 3–0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, deepening concerns that the club could be relegated for the first time since 1977. Igor Tudor's side currently sit 17th, just one point above 18th-placed West Ham. Tottenham's last league win came on 28 December against Crystal Palace, and they have since gone 13 matches without a victory. Under Tudor, Spurs have collected just one point from five league games.

In their remaining seven fixtures, they face away trips to Sunderland, Wolverhampton, Aston Villa, and Chelsea, as well as home matches against Brighton, Leeds, and Everton.

Despite losing six of their last seven matches, Opta's model predicts Tottenham will survive by just a single point. West Ham are forecast to occupy the final relegation spot alongside already-doomed Burnley and Wolverhampton. Nottingham Forest's chances of returning to the Championship are put at just 8.74%. Leeds face a 6.80% probability of dropping into the second tier, while Crystal Palace's chances of a catastrophic collapse are rated at a minimal 0.05%.

Opta's model also projects final points tallies: Wolverhampton are expected to finish bottom on 25 points, one fewer than Burnley on 26. West Ham are projected to finish on 37 points, Tottenham on 38, Nottingham Forest on 41, Leeds on 42, and Crystal Palace on 48.
