Kolo Muani Gets Called Up for France
Deschamps announces France's squad for the US tour — Kolo Muani and Mbappé are in, Barcola and Koundé are out injured.
Didier Deschamps revealed his 26-man squad for France's late-March tour of the United States. Les Bleus will play two friendlies — against Brazil on the 26th and against Colombia on the 29th.
Among those called up is Tottenham striker Randal Kolo Muani, who returns to the national team after a several-month absence. Captain Kylian Mbappé is also included, having recovered from his recent injury. The unwelcome surprise is the absence of Bradley Barcola — the Paris Saint-Germain winger misses out due to injury.
Deschamps kept faith with PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, despite the fact that the latter is a backup at his club and hasn't played a match since late January. Jean Butez of Como, who had been talked about as a potential debutant, did not receive the expected call-up. In defense, Juventus' Pierre Kalulu comes in for the injured Jules Koundé, while Chelsea's Malo Gusto is also among those selected.
The upcoming matches are Deschamps' final check before announcing the definitive World Cup squad this summer.
